What: Author and Emeritus Professor of English at Sonoma State University, Gerald W. Haslam has published extensively on the American West. Much of his writing, starting with a series of pieces for The Nation two decades ago, has sought to bring his native state’s image more into line with its reality. He has particularly celebrated California’s rural and small town areas and its poor and working class people of all colors. Funded in part by a grant from Poets & Writers, Inc.

Comments: All of SRJCs Arts & Lectures are free and open to the public. Parking permits ($2/per day) are required for the Santa Rosa and Petaluma campuses and are available for sale at permit machines located on campus parking lots. The machines take $1 bills or quarters.
